For example, in the picture above, the Gold Gem indicates that Gold is the highest value Gem that will drop from it. You’ll want to stand a fair way back as Spyro can be damaged by the blast radius, roughly indicated by the flaming debris. Charging them will instantly set them off and hurt Spyro, so to open one safely, Flame it to set off the fuse and wait for them to explode. The final Chest type in the game, Explosive Chests earn their namesake for being baskets packed with fireworks. If you’re skilled enough, you can use this to hit enemies! If you wait around a bit, you’ll be able to spot the fan blades coming back down to the ground again.
They are also vulnerable to Supercharges, where they break open immediately Unlike the Metal Chest, these are impervious to Charges, so to open them you need to flame them three times quickly to spin up the fan and make it break off, opening the Chest.
